Many years ago, the world existed in 8-bit harmony…until PixxelKorp arrived. Now, underground forces are assembling to undo the evil corporation’s mass-brainwashing campaign. You may be our only hope to lead the rebellion to victory.
Read about Linkin Park‘s new game for iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone called Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion (Thanks to our dear friend Sreejith!:) ) the game basically gets the players to fight against an evil company called Pixxelkorp that aims to ruin gaming with high-definition graphics! The game, released last Monday, features original and 8-bit versions of more than half a dozen popular Linkin Park tunes. Its fun to hear 8-bit versions of songs like One Step Closer and In The End! The avatars for each of the band members were designed by LP’s Mike Shinoda who also oversaw the app’s writing, story and gameplay.
So, you get to hear 8-bit LP songs. Whats the big deal for music lovers you ask? Well anyone who completes the levels will unlock an exclusive, unreleased track by Linkin Park called Blackbirds. A preview of the song has been put up on the LP site. Personally the Blackbirds hook reminded me of Crawling, and the instrumentation itself is the quintessential LP make, but I am looking forward to the song nevertheless. So if you own any of the Apple products mentioned above, and happen to be a music lover/gamer, you know the next app you should be looking for!
