2010 American Music Award nominations were announced on Tuesday, October 12 and most of the entries came as no surprise, the hot favorites of the year battling it out for top honors. Veteran rapper Eminem got a maximum of five nominations alongside the country music group Lady Antebellum. Teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber got four nominations, including the Favorite Male Artist in Pop/Rock and Artist Of The Year where he battles it out with other newsmakers of the year, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Katy Perry and Eminem.
Best Soundtrack nominations include AC/DC’s work for Iron Man 2 along with Glee: The Music – Volume 3 Showstoppers which consists of song remixes and The Twilight Saga’s Eclipse led by Muse‘s Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever). Shakira, following the immense success of her Waka Waka, got nominated as Favorite Artist in Latin Music.
Winners will be determined via voting which has already begun at amavote.com. The awards shall be announced at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. on Sunday, November 21. Usher, Pink and Bon Jovi are among those reported to be performers at the event.
