The audio preview of one of the songs from guitarist-singer and now composer Rashid Ali‘s debut album was released on A R Rahman‘s official facebook fan page earlier today. The album is being produced by A R Rahman under the KM Musiq Label, and shall be released shortly. The song which is out, titled Ayrilik, is an Indianised adaptation of an Azerbaijan folk song, sung by Faria Choudhary and Rashid Ali. The Hindi lyrics have been penned by Raqueeb Alam. And with a minimally serene orchestration, the song does have a very lilting effect to it, though I am not sure how much of it is derived from the folk original. Nevertheless, if this is anything to go by, this album is going to be a pretty interesting debut from Rashid Ali the composer. You can listen to the song here.
