A R Rahman will perform his Oscar-nominated song If I Rise at the Kodak Theatre on the 27th of February, at the 83rd Academy Award Nite. Reportedly Rahman’s fellow nominee Dido Armstrong is not available for the performance, and hence Florence Welch, lead singer of the Grammy-nominated outfit Florence + the Machine shall be taking her place.
For those who haven’t heard Florence before, here is an impressive preview. Fair replacement I say. Good singer. Her rendition does faintly remind one of Dido.
