The arrangement of Naattil Veettil is spunky to say the least, Gopi Sundar smartly packing brass and rock and other paraphernalia into one short burst of energy! The composer himself doubles up as vocalist with newcomer Anna Katharina and does a neat job on that front as well. The composer’s adeptness with orchestration comes to the fore in the serene O Ponthoovalai as well, the shifts across genres being executed quite nicely. Sithara and Rahul Nambiar totally own the rendition, particularly charming being the Hosannaaya Yanaanaaya hook (Not Malayalam. Suriyani?). The soundtrack ends with Oru Vazhiyai, where the composer touches on the maappilappaattu-esque template he had so brilliantly employed in Anwar, but not to the same effect. Good listen nevertheless, Vijay Yesudas being tested on the higher notes, which he passes commendably with one of the actresses Nayana Nair as his counterpart.
Ee Adutha Kaalathu – Short, neat score from Gopi Sundar.
