Just over a year since they launched a channel for the independent scene called MTV Indies, PepsiCo are back with another initiative to promote indie musicians. It is called Pepsi Unbox and the stakes this time involve an all-expense-paid trip to Singapore and a chance to perform at Music Matters Live 2015 – one of Asia’s premiere music festivals that features over 70 international bands across 4 days! Not to mention a mentoring programme at the Music Matters Academy to receive gyaan about the business of music from industry leaders!
The talent hunt comes as part of Pepsico’s new Music Accelerator Programme that is doing this on a pan Asia basis in working with local music partners – MTV Indies being the Indian counterpart. The jury will consist of Indian indie stalwarts like Ankur Tewari, apart from Music Matter executives in Hong Kong and Singapore and music marketing experts from Pepsi.
So what do you have to do? If you are an indie band/musician and are excited about this, then go straight to Pepsi unbox website, fill up the form (that includes providing a link to one of your youtube/soundcloud uploads) and cross your fingers! Sorry to cut it fine but today happens to be the last date so hurry!
